In the Premier Division, South Shields have made an ominous start to the new season, winning seven of their nine league games in August and September to reach the top of the table.
Although they suffered defeat in the FA Cup at the hands of Colne, the Mariners have continued their relentless form in to October too, as they look to put behind them the disappointment of losing last season’s play-off final, and they will clearly take some stopping this term.
In the N/West Division, Tadcaster Albion have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, winning five of their seven games in the first two calendar months of the season.
They registered wins against Trafford, Pickering, Marine, Mossley and Runcorn Linnets to get off to a flier, and celebrated that with progress in the FA Trophy against City of Liverpool earlier this week.
In the S/East Division, Leek Town have made a strong start, winning seven out of nine games and also progressing to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup, where they went down fighting in a 2-0 defeat against National League North side King’s Lynn.
They have tasted defeat in the league just once, at Cleethorpes Town in the middle of September, and Tim Grice has been in the goals, scoring eight times.
All three clubs will be presented with an engraved memento and a 1ltr bottle of spirit at an upcoming home game.
